NIKE AIR ZOOM UNVRS FLYEASE REVIEW

Tech Specs (Made For Performance Basketball)

Full knit upper. Flywire cable system throughout the midfoot for lockdown. Back third of the shoe covered in velcro and a velcro strap. Foldable heel. Magnets located in the heel pull tab (“+”) and in the midsole (“-”). Full-length Air Zoom unit for midsole cushioning. Soft rubber outsole.

Ease Of Entry - 9/10

-How To Put On-

  1. Undo velcro strap

  2. Fold back heel (Magnets should connect)

  3. Slide foot in -OR- Slide shoe on (Heel should pop back up and use heel as shoehorn if needed)

  4. Fasten velcro strap (Hook around until shoe’s tightness feels good)

-How To Take Off-

  1. Undo velcro strap

  2. Fold back heel (Magnets should connect)

  3. Slide foot out -OR- Slide shoe off

I found the UNVRS’ FlyEase system intuitive and easy to use. The first time I put them on, I did not have to think about how, I just did. The magnets are, surprisingly, strong. I like how the heel doubles as a shoehorn. However, there are some cons. There is only one way to put them on and some may not be able to put them on in that manor. Also, I think the velcro is a bit too strong, from time to time it was hard to undo the strap.

Cushioning - 7/10

The full-length Air Zoom unit is good. For basketball the cushioning is most likely good enough. However, for everyday wear I prefer adidas’ Boost and Nike’s React cushioning to Air Zoom.

Looks - 8/10
I have the White/Sport Red colorway. The upper is white and black knit with subtle glitter-esque shine. The outsole has a marbled streak design that looks amazing and I just wish Nike had used that design somewhere on the upper.

Fit And Sizing
Wide enough for most people. Length is perfect when you go true to size.

Overall
The Nike Air Zoom UNVRS FlyEase is easy to get on and off. It has a solid cushioning setup and looks good. It is a great pair of shoes for the differently abled.
