ADIDAS ULTRABOOST DNA REVIEW

Tech Specs (Made For Performance Running)

Soft and breathable Primeknit upper and heel pull tab. Hard plastic midfoot cage and heel counter for lockdown. Full Boost midsole for cushioning. Heel-to-toe Torsion System for arch support. Hard Continental rubber outsole.

Ease Of Entry - 8/10*

-How to put on-

  1. Slide foot in -OR- Slide shoe on (Use heel pull tab if needed)

  2. Tie laces

-How to take off-

  1. Untie laces

  2. Slide foot out -OR- Slide shoe off

I always use the heel pull tab. The opening is a little small and from time to time gives me a problem getting my wide feet in.

*This shoe was not made with accessibility in mind and might not be accessible enough for everyone in the differently abled community.

Cushioning -9.5/10

The full Boost midsole is unbelievably soft and squishy. I think Boost is the best cushioning setup for everyday casual use. However, Boost eventually bottoms out, making the midsole not as comfortable.

Looks - 8.5/10
The adidas Ultraboost DNA has a clean and simple design. The Primeknit pattern is designed to look like an arrow. The midfoot cage doubles as adidas’ three stripe branding. At the top of the tongue there is the adidas performance logo. The Ultraboost DNA comes in countless colorways, some of which switch the plastic of the midfoot cage and heelconter for leathers and suedes. I have a few colorways and really like them all.

Fit And Sizing

Wide enough for most people. Length is perfect when you go true to size.

Overall

The adidas Ultraboost 4.0 is a comfortable and good looking pair of shoes. However, the lack of accessibility is very irritating. I would love for adidas, heck all shoe companies, to follow Nike’s FlyEase example and start to manufacture shoes made with accessibility for ease of entry in mind.
